Merry Christmas!

25 December 2012

prepping for Hambrunch
Our plans for Christmas Eve yesterday were altered a bit. We had been invited to spend a midnight meal, the noche buena, with some family friends, but their mother wasn’t feeling well after a recent operation so had to postpone it until the 27th. We spent a nice, relaxing day hanging out here instead. Our vegetarian neighbor and winner of a box of quite delicious ham suggested that we have a Ham Brunch to help her and her fiancé finish up the ham. So that was a very nice, festive meal. We watched Elf in the evening.

Our neighborhood began celebrating around 9:30am. The people across from our building have a little space next to their house where they set up tables, chairs, and karaoke in the morning. They started blasting Beatles and disco music a little after 9:00am. Karaoke started around 10:00am. They kept going strong until a little after midnight when their dinner began (or they got tired?). Random fireworks started in the evening and continued through the night. We’re looking forward to some long naps this Christmas!
